Taken its name from the next Era proposed to follow Holocene (the one of the last 10.000-12.000 years and means ''brand new''), characterized by the immense human effect. Driven by greed, human civilization is headed into a suicidal extinction, with this course accelerating exponentially. Burning fossil fuels, controlled by unsustainable economic and political structures, keeping up consumerism and industrial pollution, being truant about it altogether.
Is self-destruction, an inevitable destination of intelligence? Maybe a solution to the Fermi paradox? This inglorious ending of such potential, ends up in a slow fade, just like all the celestial bodies and the universe itself. So Anthropocene couldn't be better suited for the subject, as Entropy's little helper.
