Psychalgorithm is the 4rth track of the album Synapses, dedicated to the integration of our thoughts, feelings and actions, with a synthetic counterpart.
Everyday, we feed willingly (and sometimes, unknowingly) social media with absolutely everything about ourselves. All this information is then used seemingly to our benefit, by tuning in what we like to see the most. But how much of it is actually helpful?
But it goes beyond than that. If some database is filled with all your hopes and dreams, all your fears and worries, all your taste and preferences, all your actions and whereabouts, isn't that... you? Is the growing number of repulsion towards social media, caused partially by seeing too much of our own ugly reflection in them?
Along with the direct profits of the Big Data industry, a secondary goal is at play for the long game - a complex register of human behavior. What this is set to unleash, is the the reason for including a symbolic Pandora's Box to the track's artwork - Pandora after all, was an artificial humanoid sent to destroy humanity.
So, if you happen to maintain the belief that technological singularity is a far-fetched scenario, or even a plausible one that is reserved for the far future, reality forces you to reconsider.
